It’s Cthulhu Invictus Tuesday!

Roman families would honor their noble ancestors by making wax masks of their most famous members at the time of their death. These funeral masks were treasured by the family, to be displayed on special ceremonial occasions and gave them a tangible ink to their past. This funerary mask was discovered in the ruins of a gladiatorial school in Sicily in 1983 and dates back to the early 60’s AD. Anthropologists are at a loss for the mask’s unusual features although certain historical records from the region mention an affliction called “Ocean Pox”.

The mask is of the school’s founder, a retired freedman who had attained great fame as a Murmillo gladiator himself. This great name, his school and his many descendants prospered for over a century after his death.

Golden Goblin Press is proud to once again offer an exclusive item sculpted by mythos master Joe Broers. The Death Mask of Magnus Murma will be included with certain backer levels of the De Horrore Cosmico Kickstarter.
